Manchester United supporters in The Football Transfer Tavern have placed down their pints to listen to the latest transfer speculation from The Mirror who have a new possible transfer target for the Red Devils.
The paper indicates that after missing out on Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich, United are now trying to sign his brother Rafa, who is a rising star at Barcelona.
The 21-year-old midfielder, more commonly known as Rafinha, is spending the season on-loan at Celta Viago and according to our Spanish expert has performed consistency well for the La Liga outfit.
This could see him promoted to the Barca first team for the start of the next season, but not before Moyes tries to move for the next Alcantara.
It is well known in the tavern that the Old Trafford club are preparing a rebuild of their struggling side after giving up the Premier League title and possibly Champions League football.
Last week the club’s Executive Chairman Ed Woodward, said: “It’s fair to say we are focused on strengthening the squad. We aren’t afraid of moving in the market in a way we perhaps haven’t seen in recent years.
“We’ve had roughly three sales and three purchases each year, and it’s possible we would do more than that.”
That leaves United fans excited with what the future might hold at Old Trafford.
