‘Lacazette hat-trick’ – Arsenal fans on Twitter excited for huge clash tonight

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have been preparing for what promises to be the two biggest games of their season as they take on Atletico Madrid home and away this week and next in the Europa League semi-finals. Tonight marks Arsene Wenger’s last European game at The Emirates before he steps down in the summer, and the fans will be looking to give him a proper European send-off as they look o edge past their Spanish opponents.

Arsene Wenger will be facing off against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid as he hopes to make his Arsenal bow by winning the club’s first European trophy. Simeone has been linked with the Arsenal job in recent years, although since the news broke last Friday that Wenger would be stepping down, other names have been more heavily rumoured to be taking over from the Frenchman.

If Arsenal can sneak their way past Atletico across 180 minutes of football, which seems very unlikely seeing as Atletico have made it to two of the last Champions League finals, then they’ll face a slightly easier job in the final against either Marseille or Red Bull Salzburg. If the club are to advance to the final then they’ll need a host of key players to be on their game. The task is not beyond Wenger’s men, and with the recent goalscoring form of Alexandre Lacazette, Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey, the tie is set to be a very entertaining one.
