Liverpool have been hugely disappointing in recent times as they’ve dropped four points in their last two Premier League fixtures, with draws coming against West Ham United and Leicester City.
The Reds won’t be too disheartened by their recent run of results as they still have a game in hand over Manchester City, which could take them three points clear at the top if they secure the win.
Interestingly, Liverpool will welcome Bournemouth to Anfield later on today in their next Premier League fixture. The Cherries were beaten convincingly at the Cardiff City Stadium last time out, so the Reds will feel confident that they can add to Eddie Howe’s woes by getting the job done in front of home support.
Although, after a disappointing showing against the Hammers last time out, this Liverpool PAIR need to prove they’re fit to feature in the title race today…
Adam Lallana hasn’t been able to offer much on the field in recent weeks in the Premier League, and he failed to make the most of a rare start last time out against the Hammers. The Englishman wasn’t able to find the killer pass and looked ordinary in possession, so Jurgen Klopp may decide against gifting him a starting place anytime soon.
Indeed, the attacking midfielder has plenty of ability but he just hasn’t been able to show it, so he’ll need to buck up his ideas if he is to feature in the title race from here on in.
Liverpool have really struggled without Trent Alexander-Arnold as James Milner has had to fill in at right-back.
Sadly, the Englishman hasn’t been able to ensure defensive solidity in Alexander-Arnold’s absence as he was ripped apart by Wilfried Zaha against Crystal Palace, and struggled to handle Felipe Anderson last time out.
Alexander-Arnold is set to make his return and the Reds’ midfield is already overflowing with talent, so Milner will need to get his act together if he is to force his way into the side from here on in.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
