Landing £20.7m-rated ace could see the end of Valencia’s first team run at Man Utd – agreed?

It’s looking set to be another summer of change at Old Trafford. Despite securing a win in the famed Manchester derby, not everything is right at Man Utd.

Jose Mourinho still has a sizeable task on his hands to ensure that the Red Devils are competing for the Premier League title next season, with several areas in need of an upgrade.

One such spot is at right-back. Antonio Valencia has been great, but at 32-years-old, the Ecuadorian is not the long-term solution that Jose Mourinho needs.

Fortunately, then, our landlord has a solution, and it comes in the form of Monaco ace Djibril Sidibe, who is rated at £20.7 million by Transfer Markt. According to Telefoot, Man Utd are keen on the defender, with Mourinho potentially interested in a summer move.

Monaco has been a hub of exciting talent over the last few years, and Sidibe certainly falls in that category. A talented right-back, he has impressed in Ligue 1 as of late, and at 25-years-old, he’s just beginning to enter the prime years of his career.

Typically more of an offensive full-back, Sidibe is a willing running, and as a result he is able to contribute both defensively and offensively. Going forward, he has a fantastic cross and is quick enough to move past players, making him a real threat down the flanks. Meanwhile, he’s also solid at the back, and that’s important given Man Utd’ struggles in that regard this season.

Man Utd have lacked consistency at the back over the last year or so, and Sidibe would offer it in droves.

Valencia has been a great servant to Man Utd, but Mourinho must plan ahead, and he needs to begin preparing for a life after Valencia. Sidibe would be a fantastic successor to a player that has arguably been one of Man Utd’s best ever purchases.
