Liverpool were held last weekend by a resilient Stoke City side and at the time of writing, were preparing for their crucial Champions League second leg with Roma, with the Reds leading 5-2 from the first tie.
The Reds fans here in the Tavern have been making plenty of noise this season and that has carried on this week, with many of the supporters excited that the club could finally win a Premier League title under Jurgen Klopp over the coming seasons.
To do so, our landlord thinks the club need to add one or two world class players to the ranks, and he thinks targeting a top class number nine should be a priority.
One player who fits the bill perfectly is Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, valued at £81m by Transfermarkt and a player who is set to leave the German club this summer and will not be short of offers from the top sides across Europe.
However, Liverpool should be the ones looking to push to make a deal happen, with the club only really having Roberto Firmino to call on as a reliable striker down the middle.
Lewandowski is a proven commodity in front of goal and has been banging them in for years now, first with Dortmund, and then later with Bayern, who he has helped lead to Champions League finals and semi-finals over the last few years.
The Polish striker would improve Liverpool no end, and if they could pull off a move, they might well just have enough to fire them to a Premier League title win at last.
