The resident Hammers are absolutely devastated in the Transfer Tavern following the news that Manuel Lanzini has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
At the beginning of the season Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic could hardly put a foot right for The Irons under Slaven Bilic, but since the arrival of David Moyes, the attacking pair have been instrumental to the clubs resurgence. Whatever Moyes has done on the training ground and said to the aforementioned stars has clearly worked wonders, as between them they have provided 8 goals and 9 assists since the beginning of November.
However, West Ham’s revival could be set to stagnate in the coming weeks now that Lanzini has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. According to reports in The Daily Mail, Lanzini’s injury will see him sidelined for at least one month – a fact which unsurprisingly is raising concern amongst The Hammers faithful propping up our bar.
Moyes should be on the hunt for a new creative midfielder now that Lanzini has been ruled out through injury, and one target who should be at the top of his wishlist is Antalyaspor’s Samir Nasri (valued at £9 million by transfermarkt), formerly of both Arsenal and Manchester City of course.
The Frenchman left City in the summer after he was deemed surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola, but he has failed to settle into his new surroundings in Turkish Super Lig as of yet.
A return to the familiar surroundings of the English capital may well appeal to Nasri who is still only 30-years-old, even if he will probably need to take a pay cut to join West Ham.
Nasri has proven that he has creativity in abundance during his previous employment in the Premier League, and by all accounts, he looks to represent an ideal replacement for Lanzini, so Moyes should do everything he can to bring him to The London Stadium this month.
