If Tottenham don’t make some sort of move for anyone in the next few days then there will be some very unhappy residents in N17. There have been endless rumours surrounding supposed incomings at Spurs but so far nothing has been concrete. The fans will be hoping this one can be different, though, as The Mirror report Spurs are interested in Stanislav Lobotka of Celta Vigo for £31 million.

Tottenham are the only Premier League club of the 20 yet to sign a player and have repeated the feat from last season of being the last club to bring someone in. Last year, Davinson Sanchez came in as their first signing and this time around it will be a miracle if Daniel Levy can wheel and deal his way to signing a player of the same quality as Sanchez. However, there could be some hope with Lobotka, who looks like he would fit Mauricio Pochettino’s style.
The Slovakian midfielder is just 23-years-old and has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign with Celta Vigo. The ex-Ajax academy man featured in every game for Celta Vigo last season, mostly being deployed as a defensive midfielder, however, the combative 23-year-old can also be deployed in a more advanced role as a box-to-box centre-midfielder. If Spurs did sign the Slovakian he would provide useful cover for the ageing Mousa Dembele and injury-prone Victor Wanyama and there wouldn’t be many Tottenham fans against him signing.

Whilst some fans may have their reservations, a lot of the supporters are keen to get this one over the line and sign their man as soon as possible before Thursday’s deadline.
