A brilliant week looks set to get even better for Swansea City as the Daily Mirror have claimed that their highly sought-after manager Michael Laudrup will remain with the club in the summer and snub a host of other clubs in the process.
Laudrup of course has just guided the Swans to victory in the Capital One Cup Final at Wembley and is seeing his reputation skyrocket. He is now the people’s favorite to take over from Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid should he leave in the summer and is on the radar of more than a couple of top English clubs including Chelsea.
Despite all of this, the Dane feels that he is still relatively inexperienced with a great deal to learn and is more than happy to continue his managerial education in South Wales. He feels the board including Huw Jenkins are totally behind him and are willing to give him time and what money they have to advance the squad further.
The former Barcelona and Real Madrid player also feels he is stamping his own mark on the Jacks side after taking over from Brendan Rodgers in the summer and is keen to keep hold of players such as Michu who has performed admirably in his first Premier League campaign.
Chairman Jenkins explained: “With us doing well and him being a past player and a fantastic one for Real Madrid it is natural he will be linked with them. But Michael has stated he would honour his contract and we are looking a year ahead already. Personally I have no issue about the thought of him not being here next season.”
How impressed have you been with Michael Laudrup this term? Would you take him at Chelsea or Arsenal? Let us know your thoughts below.
