We’ve lost count with the amount of punters here in the Transfer Tavern that have declared Jurgen Klopp would be the perfect replacement for Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, so much so that we’ve banned the discussion altogether.
However, The Daily Mail have messed up our plans by throwing the story into the limelight yet again- stating that Klopp is happy to take over at Liverpool but has one major demand.
It’s said that Klopp will demand that the transfer committee at Anfield will be disbanded, which seems like a good idea after the group led to the Reds signing Mario Balotelli and denied Rodgers’ requests to sign Ashley Williams from Swansea.
When you have a look at Liverpool’s woeful transfer record in recent years, which included spending a combined £36m on Balotelli and Lazar Markovic only to loan them out a year later, it becomes apparent why Klopp wants full control.
Liverpool would be daft not to honour this request as Klopp has brought Mario Gotze, Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski into prominence, as well as getting the best out of Shinji Kagawa and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Liverpool fans, is it time for Rodgers to go regardless of the result in this weekend’s Merseyside derby? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
