The Everton and Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are engaged in a heated debate over who is going to win the race for one of England’s hottest prospects.
Both Everton and Liverpool want to sign Ezri Konsa from Charlton Athletic, The Sunday Mirror is reporting.
Ezri Konsa is considered to be one of the best prospects in League One and Charlton have been desperately trying to hang onto him for a while.
Everton have recently looked to poach the best young players from other clubs and that included signing Konsa’s former team mate, Ademola Lookman, in January.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another example of a young player Everton snapped up from League One.
However, the Toffees face competition from Merseyside rivals Liverpool, who have also snapped up a youngster from Charlton Athletic in recent years.
Joe Gomez arrived at Anfield from The Valley.
Ezri Konsa is a centre back by trade but has also operated as a holding midfielder on occasion.
The England under-20 international was part of the squad which won the European under-20 Championships this summer and he is being tipped for a bright future.
The 19-year-old is set to be the subject of a bidding war when the transfer window re-opens with Charlton bracing themselves for interest.
