Leeds linked with a move for Muhamed Besic

Leeds United are thought to still be looking at possible recruits this summer as Marcelo Bielsa looks to improve his squad.

The new manager will have been pleased with what he saw from his side at the weekend when he oversaw a 3-1 victory against Stoke City.

The Argentine, however, appears to have turned his interest back to the transfer window and it is thought that he is eyeing up a move for a Premier League midfielder.

According to a website in Bosnia called Sport, Leeds are considering a move for Everton’s Muhamed Besic.

The report also suggests that the Bosnia and Herzegovina international has attracted interest from West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough, with whom he spent time on loan with during the second half of the season.

He is not expected to be involved with Everton this season, as additions at Goodison Park are likely to make him fall further down the pecking order, however, it remains to be seen if Leeds will bring him back to the Championship.

The Verdict:

Besic is a very good player and would certainly help to improve Leeds in the midfield area.

The Whites have lost Ronaldo Vieira this summer to Sampdoria, whilst Adam Forshaw is out injured for a significant period of time. The likes of Eunan O’Kane and Yosuke Ideguchi have been told they do not have a future at the club, which would create a midfield opening.

The Bosnian has plenty of experience and showed that he can play at the Championship level last season when he managed to help guide Boro to a play-off spot.
