Leeds United finally look set to land one of their targets this summer after a disappointing and frustrating few weeks for Marcelo Bielsa.
The Argentine had identified a number of key men who he wanted to join him at Elland Road, however, the club’s inability to finalise any deal has made it difficult to happen.
The Whites have been linked with the likes of Matej Vydra, Abel Hernandez and David Stockdale during the early stages of the transfer window, however, they struggled to meet the demands of the players or their clubs.
However, it appears that Bielsa has finally managed to get another signing through the door this summer, following Lewis Baker’s season-long loan from Chelsea.
According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Jamal Blackman is thought to have reached an agreement with the Whites about making a season-long loan from the Blues and is expected to become a Leeds player over the weekend.
The goalkeeping department has been a concern for Bielsa since his arrival and has been keen on bringing in someone who can be deemed reliable between the sticks.
The new manager has been looking at a number of targets to replace Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan, with Stockdale and Angus Gunn once considered as possible targets.
However, Blackman has proven that he can play at the Championship level following last season’s efforts with Sheffield United and should prove to be a solid acquisition for the Elland Road outfit.
