According to recent reports, Leeds United are interested in Manchester City centre-back and potential Juventus target, Luke Mbete.
The Athletic claim that both Leeds and Juventus are keeping tabs on the 17-year-old defender, who The Athletic have named as one of the ’20 young Premier League players to watch out for in 2021′.
The Manchester side signed the left-footed centre-back – along with current Leeds player, Ian Poveda – from the now-folded Brentford academy, and he is already said to have caught the attention of Pep Guardiola with his performances at youth level.
A follow-up report by Leeds Live adds that a move for the youngster, who has been likened to Man City legend Vincent Kompany, would fit with the club’s recruitment policy of ‘hoovering up elite, teenage talent from other British clubs’.
Do you think Luke Mbete would be a good signing for Leeds?

While it is hard to make a judgement as to whether or not Mbete would be a good fit into Marcelo Bielsa’s squad as he is yet to make a professional appearance in his career, considering the fact that Guardiola has already noticed the ability of the 17-year-old, and the fact that he has drawn comparisons to players with the quality of Kompany, it would certainly appear as if the centre-back has an incredibly bright future ahead of him, be that in Manchester, Turin, or perhaps even Leeds.
