The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s interest in Oli McBurnie. The Swansea striker is currently on-loan at Barnsley and plays his last game for the club on Sunday lunchtime away to Derby County as he looks to end his successful spell in Yorkshire by keeping Barnsley in the Championship for another year. You can read about Leeds interest in McBurnie in the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Oli McBurnie has scored nine goals in his 16 appearances in the Championship for Barnsley on loan this season and with his proven Championship record he could solve Leeds striker problems that they’ve suffered from this season. Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Jay-Roy Grot, Kemar Roofe and Caleb Ekuban have all been misfiring in the Championship this season and between them, they’ve been unable to match the goal tally reached by Chris Wood for Leeds in the 2016/17 season.
The only stumbling block in the potential deal to bring the 21-year-old to Elland Road lies in the fact that the ambitious young forward has aspirations to prove his credentials in the Premier League sooner or later. The on-loan Swan has been named Barnsley’s player of the year even though he’s been at the club for just three months, with current Leeds gaffer, Paul Heckingbottom being the man who brought McBurnie to Oakwell in the January window.

How key is Heck to facilitating this deal? I mean, would it be cheeky to ask him to help get this over the line then bomb him out? Asking for an Italian PR & media guru
