Legend to leave Man United after Jose Mourinho appointment

GiggsManchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are coming to terms with the fact they are set to lose a club legend, who’s spent almost three decades at Old Trafford.

The Daily Mirror states that Ryan Giggs will end his 29-year association with the Red Devils after rejecting Jose Mourinho’s offer to join his new-look backroom staff.

Giggs, who has spent two-years as assistant to Louis Van Gaal, is keen to leave and prove himself as a manager, after being offered a lesser role with United after Mourinho’s appointment was finally confirmed last week.

The Welshman previously spent a year as player-coach under David Moyes, before managing the Red Devils until the end of the season after the former Everton boss was axed, but a role with United next season would see him work with the academy.

Giggs is desperate to become a manager but, having been overlooked for the United role twice in the last two years, the legendary midfielder is set to continue his journey elsewhere.

How long until Giggs becomes United manager? Let us know in the comments below!
