Fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting to some interesting statistics, that have led to them all adjusting their Fantasy Football line-ups, with the deadliest strikers in the Premier League revealed.
EA Sports have lifted the lid further on the goalscoring exploits of current top-scorer Jamie Vardy, who equalled a long-standing record at the weekend for scoring in the tenth consecutive Premier League match, and more details on the talented English forward improve his credentials.
No player in the Premier League has had more shots than Vardy this season, with Harry Kane the only other player to have more than 20 attempts, but it’s Vardy’s conversion rate which is the most impressive.
Hitting the target with an impressive 62.5% of his shots this season, Vardy has converted a staggering 32.5% of his overall efforts into goals- which have helped put Leicester City surprisingly at the top of the table.
His deadly conversion rate of 13 goals in 13 Premier League matches sees him score every 88.3 minutes on average, a number only Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero can better- but Vardy has almost played double the amount of minutes than the Argentine!
Eyebrows were raised by the name who holds the third-lowest minutes per goal ratio in the Premier League, with Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud scoring in every 101.1 minutes of football.
Lifting the lid on the top strikers in the Premier League, these statistics show that Vardy is by far the most in-form striker currently and should be a shoe-in for a starting spot in England’s European Championship campaign.
