Leicester City agree deal for 29-year-old as Ranieri’s side begin title defence

The Leicester City fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing news that the club have agreed a new deal with one of their stars of last season.

According to ESPN, the Premier League champions have reached an agreement with goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel over a new deal at the King Power Stadium.

It is reported that the Danish international has signed a new five year contract with the club which will hopefully put off other clubs from coming in and making a move for the no nonsense keeper.

One such team supposedly interested in making a move for Schmeichel were Everton and it now appears that Ronald Koeman will have to look elsewhere for a top quality replacement for Tim Howard who left earlier this summer.

Schmeichel played a major role in Leicester’s unlikely Premier League success last season, and managed to keep 15 clean sheets for the club which won him acclaim from many in the game.

Our landlord thinks this is fantastic news for the Foxes, and says that the Danish keeper is one of the club’s most pivotal players!

Foxes fans… Happy with this? Let us know below!
