Leicester City seemed to have got things going again and are looking like a force to be reckoned with once more under new manager Claude Puel.
The Foxes are unlikely to ever hit the heights they did when securing the Premier League title two seasons back, but at the moment, and with Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez still part of the squad, they can be a match for anyone on their day.
Here in Tavern, it’s not often we get too many Foxes fans through the door, but the cold snap this week has seen a few of the Leicester fans make their way to our bar and have a good few chats with our landlord about all things football, especially, the summer transfer window.
Last year saw another fairly big outlay by the people in charge at the King Power, and there’s a growing feeling some players may need to leave this summer. One of those players is midfielder and long serving Matty James.
James has seen a whole host of new players come into the squad over the last few seasons which have seen him shunted down the pecking order somewhat, and there’s little to encourage him that this summer things will be much different.
The midfielder spent part of last season on loan with Barnsley after recovering from long term injury, and now, with first team football bound to be on his mind, he could well be on his way this summer if Puel decides to part ways.
James will have plenty of admirers at Championship level though, and should be in no danger of not being able to find another club.
Foxes fans, what do you think? Will James be on his way? Let us know in the comments!
