Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey could be on the verge of leaving the club, with Turkish side Trabzonspor allegedly interested.
The report states that they fancy him in central midfield as Ogenyi Onazi has been out with an injury all season.
Amartey is contracted at the King Power until the summer of 2022.
Considering that the 24-year-old is yet to make a matchday squad for Leicester in the whole of the Premier League this season, and has only made one bench appearance in the EFL Cup, his future is certainly up in the air.
While his versatility is convenient for the club if injuries occur, the Foxes still have more than enough depth to see a realistic chance of him getting in the first team in future seasons. With Wilfred Ndidi, Hamza Choudhury and Nampalys Mendy all ahead of him in the defensive midfield battle, he sits at the bottom of the pile.
At 24, Amartey is at a stage in his career where he will want to be kicking on and getting minutes under his belt, and that seems a long way away at Leicester.
This transfer could suit all three parties involved if it goes through. Trabzonspor could add more depth to their squad as they push for European football in the Super Lig, Amartey could get some much needed minutes under his belt, and Leicester can make use for a player who is currently just dormant in the squad.
Will Leicester City finish the season in the top six?
