Leicester City fans on Twitter couldn’t understand Puel’s substitutions yesterday

Leicester City fans on Twitter couldn’t understand Puel’s substitutions yesterday - Leicester

A lot of Leicester City fans were left baffled yesterday as Claude Puel seemed to want Manchester United to win just as much as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. After Marcus Rashford scored early the Foxes were left chasing a goal, and they weren’t happy to see James Maddison hooked with half an hour to play.

This time last year James Maddison was a Championship player with Norwich City, however, he’s currently one of the best creative forces outside of the top six, and the Foxes were fuming when Puel hooked him yesterday. The 22-year-old has managed five goals and four assists in his 22 Premier League games this season, and the King Power Stadium usually look him to him when they need an impact.

However, in yesterday’s clash when they needed someone to step up, Puel took off the man who so often delivers for them. The fans were left livid and had to suffer the final 30 minutes with Rachid Ghezzal the man bearing the creative burden. The Algerian may have produced a fine save from David De Gea after his introduction, but the fans would much rather have seen him playing alongside Maddison yesterday as opposed to be subbed on in place of the Englishman.

You can read the Foxes’ verdict on Puel’s decision to sub Maddison here:

The Foxes were livid at Puel when he decided to hook Maddison and would love to hear an explanation of why he made such a bold call.
