Leicester City prepare January move for experienced midfielder

De JongThe Leicester City fans playing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern are discussing a transfer rumour linking them with a move for an experienced Dutch international midfielder.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Premier League leaders are considering a move for Nigel de Jong.

De Jong is no stranger to the Premier League, following a successful spell at Manchester City which included a Premier League winners medal.

It caused shockwaves around the Etihad Stadium when the Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini decided to dispose of the midfielders services following the Championship winning season.

De Jong had struggled for game time at the San Siro this season, making just five appearances to date for AC Milan.

It is reported that the 31-year-old midfielder would be available for a cut price £2 million fee and with the sort of experience he possesses, Claudio Ranieri is eager to add him to his squad in January.

Those Leicester fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted that the club are looking at a proven winner in De Jong and are hopeful the club can secure the midfielders signature.
