Leicester City rule out move for World Cup finalist

De JongThe Leicester City fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern are discussing comments made by the club regarding the signing of an experienced Dutch international.

The Leicester Mercury is reporting that the club have denied all links on speculation that the club were about to sign Nigel De Jong.

Reports since the transfer window opened suggested that club had agreed a £2 million deal to sign Nigel De Jong, a rumour the club have been quick to squash.

Leicester claim that rumours of a move for the former Manchester City man are false and that the player has not even featured on the list of targets that manager Claudio Ranieri has in mind.

Our landlord in The Transfer Tavern thinks that although the club are denying the speculation regarding De Jong, he could add the experience required to the club as they look to add Champions League football next season.

As for the Leicester fans, they trust every decision that Ranieri is making and that the club are leaps ahead of where they thought they would be this season.
