Leicester continued their inconsistent and unspectacular start to the Premier League season with a 0-0 draw at Bournemouth yesterday.
The Foxes have so far looked a long way from the Premier League title winning team of two seasons ago, but still, they look every bit a solid Premier League outfit who should be capable of finishing in the top half.
Our landlord here in the Tavern is of the opinion that Leicester need to settle on some strikers though if they are continue impressing, and one man he feels does not seem to get as many chances as he might like is Islam Slimani.
The big Algerian striker is a class act on his day and has at times during his career at the King Power looked like being the player they expected him to be when they paid over £30m for his services.
However, he needs an extended run of games in order to be able to find his form, and our gaffer here thinks that he can prove his worth with some minutes under his belt.
Slimani is a quality finisher, but he has more to his game too. His hold up play and touch, and ability to bring in others to the attack is something which is impressive when he’s on full form. A potential partnership with Jamie Vardy should be a mouthwatering prospect for the Foxes, and if given the chance, they could well form an excellent understanding.
