Leicester City star delighted after equaling sensational record

Jamie VardyLeicester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are dreaming of Champions League football after a scintillating start to the 2015/16 Premier League campaign, which sees the club at the top of the league.

On Saturday the Foxes thumped Newcastle United 3-0 to rise to the summit with Jamie Vardy hitting the headlines as he netted to score in a tenth consecutive top-flight game to equal the Premier League record.

Should he score again on Saturday against Manchester United, Vardy will break the record which he is now a joint holder of with former United talisman Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Following the game the striker was in typically grounded mood and spoke to Sky Sports, where he said:

“At the end of the day I have scored but we have kept a clean sheet and taken the three points. Fair play to Van Nistelrooy for messaging me, I have managed to get up there with him now and we will see what happens next week.”

One Leicester fan in the Tavern is flicking through the paper waiting for the landlord to change the barrel and is astonished with Vardy’s current form.

He wasn’t convinced by Vardy at all when he first signed for the club but says he has been in fantastic form this season and hopes it continues.

Leicester fans… How do you asses Vardy thus far? Can this form continue? Are you surprised with just how well the club is doing?
