There’s a huge season on the horizon for Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger, who is under huge pressure to deliver results having signed a new two-year deal at the Emirates.
The Frenchman signed the contract extension earlier this summer- a decision which seems to have divided the Arsenal fans here in the pub, but it’s a move that will see the long-term boss oversee at least another couple of years at the helm of the club.
But moving forward, it’s important that Wenger brings in the right players at the helm of the club and restores the faith the Arsenal fans once held him in.
And one man they have been linked with over the summer months is Leicester City attacker Riyad Mahrez, who had been in fine form for Leicester as his side won an unexpected title a couple of years ago.
He endured a slightly quieter campaign last time out but with interest in his signature still high, it might come as a surprise to learn that the Algerian international still hasn’t received a concrete transfer offer just yet.
According to Sky Sports, Mahrez very much remains a Leicester City player.
“There’s a big difference between an offer and speculation, so there is nothing on the table at the moment,” Mahrez told Algeria’s Elheddaf Television.
Wenger’s got a big job on his hands to attract star players as a result of their Europa League qualification but would a move for Mahrez bring the quality they need to compete at the top?
