Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy will undergo a medical at Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, with the £22 million transfer to the Gunners seemingly gathering pace, according to ESPN.
Arsenal are desperate to get the deal over the line before Euro 2016 kicks off this weekend, with a genuine fear that the move could be scuppered if it is not completed before the commencement of the tournament.
Vardy netted 24 goals last season to contribute towards the Foxes’ title winning campaign, with their supporters here in the Transfer Tavern desperately disappointed that he has now opted to leave the King Power Stadium.
The move will represent a massive rise to prominence for Vardy who was playing non-league football just four years ago, and at 29-years-old the striker will no doubt see this as his one chance to move to an elite European club.
One Arsenal fan here in the Tavern is hopeful ahead of the medical stating that Vardy is exactly what the Gunners need and is excited at the prospect of him playing at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal fans, are you happy about this news? Can he be a good player for the club? Who else should the club look to sign?
