Leicester City have been the giant killers in the Premier League in recent times, having beaten the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea.
The Foxes will have their sights set firmly on securing a place in Europe after their recent rise in form, with a successful January transfer window only helping their cause. Although, it appears as if their potential January plans have taken a hit, as according to AlSadd S.C’s official Twitter account, Baghdad Bounedjah has signed a new deal.
Indeed, Stad El Doha claimed that Leicester were close to a deal for Bounedjah less than a week ago.
But, the Algerian international looks set to remain an Al Sadd player for the time being, after signing a five-and-a-half year deal on Friday.
Interestingly, the prolific attacker has managed to produce 26 goals in 13 appearances in the league this season, so it comes as a big blow for Leicester that he has decided to sign a new deal at his current club.
Leicester City could do with bringing in another striker as the likes of Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho have failed to produce a consistent flow of goals.
But, with Bounedjah signing a new deal at this current club, it appears as if the Foxes will now have to look elsewhere in the January transfer window.
