The Leicester City punters in the Transfer Tavern had one final bit of deadline day business to discuss after hearing reports that one of their defenders has made the late loan switch to Fiorentina.
According to the Leicester Mercury, 28-year-old, Yohan Benalouane has joined Italian side, Fiorentina, on loan for the rest of the season.
The defender has been allowed to return back to Italy just six months after making the £5.6m switch to the Premier League from Atalanta.
Benalouane has made just nine appearances for the in-form Leicester side this season but has not yet started a single Premier League game.
With Roberth Huth and Wes Morgan forming a formidable defensive partnership at the heart of the Foxes’ defence, Benalouane has struggled for first-team football.
With the arrival of midfielder, Daniel Amartey, who can play as a centre-back or right-back, Claudio Ranieri clearly feels that he has sufficient defensive cover, which allows Benalouane to go out on loan.
