Leicester City are set for a wave of summer interest to lure Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez and French deterrent N’golo Kante away from the King Power Stadium, but The Daily Mirror reports the Foxes are accepting at least one of the duo will be leaving.
Both player’s have been key to the success of the Premier League leaders, who expect to lose at least one of their prize assets in this coming window.
Barcelona, Manchester United and Spurs have 16-goal Mahrez on their radar’s and Leicester could make 50 fold on the initial £400,000 fee, paid to Le Havre, with the midfielder said to be valued at £25million.
Arguably the signing of season, N’Golo’s Kante’s efforts in midfield were noticed early on in the season and the 25-year-old has shown an incredible consistency. Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Juventus are all keeping tabs on the defensively midfielder, who earned his first French cap in the recent international friendlies.
Kante is yet to sign a deal that Leicester are desperately pushing through. He said last week:
“I will fight for Leicester this season and next season we never know and we will see. At this moment I am focused on Leicester. We have to finish well this season but I don’t mind about [being linked with] the other clubs.”
It’s been clear from the start that Leicester may lose some of their most valuable assets, particularly as history has showed similar situations in the past with the likes of Southampton.
