Leicester City will be gutted that they didn’t manage to secure at least a point against Liverpool on Saturday after a strong second half display.
The Foxes started the season strongly despite losing against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, with the international break allowing Claude Puel to gather his thoughts. And, it looks as if the Frenchman is taking a look at potential additions, as according to the Sun (print edition Sunday September 2nd, page 59) (via HITC), Leicester City are keen on signing Brentford defender Chris Mepham.
It’s understood that Leicester remain keen on signing Brentford’s Chris Mepham, having had a £10 million bid rejected for his services in the summer.
However, they will have to fork out in excess of £15 million in January, if they are to obtain his signature.
And, fellow Premier League side Bournemouth are also interested in signing the 20-year-old.
Leicester City have already gotten the best out of James Maddison since he moved to the King Power Stadium during the summer transfer window. Therefore, there’s no reason as to why the Foxes can’t get the best out of Brentford’s Chris Mepham, with the heart of the defence requiring some improvements.
Claude Puel will be focused on ensuring consistency once the international break is over, with a European spot still in the Frenchman’s sights.
