The Leicester fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing comments comments made by one of their star performers this summer.
The Daily Mail is reporting that N’Golo Kante is looking forward to playing Champions League football next season at the King Power Stadium and is not looking to leave the club this summer.
Kante has been a star performer for the Premier League champions this season and has been scouted by many top teams in recent weeks including Chelsea who were reportedly ready to make a move for the influential midfielder this summer. Speaking about his future, Kante said:
‘It has been a good season with fans supporting us since the beginning. When I came here I can’t imagine winning the title. But as the season has gone on we feel and say, “Why not?” Now we did it.’
‘Champions League next season will be new for me but I hear good things. We don’t know what will happen, we have just joined at this moment. We have just done it for this season, next season we will see.’
‘I am not a star player. Ranieri is a good man, he did very good work and we are happy for him. It was the spirit of the team.’
The Leicester fans in The Tavern are delighted with Kante’s comments and are pleased that he has dispelled the rumours and pledged to stay with the club next season.
