Leicester reignite interest in Premier League defender after new contract is snubbed

The Leicester City fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening have noticed reports that the club could be set to reignite interest in a Premier League defender.

According to reports in The Daily Mail, the Premier League champions are considering an offer of £15 million for Burnley defender, Michael Keane.

With the interest from Leicester, Burnley decided to offer Keane a new four year deal at Turf Moor which would have made him one of the highest paid players at the club. However, the 23-year-old has rejected this and is believed to be trying to push a move away from the club this summer.

The club are now expecting The Foxes to come in with a revised offer in the next few days and will be looking for a bid of around £20 million for the defender, who played a major role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League last season.

The former Man United youngster only made the move to the Lancashire side last summer, after an impressive loan spell the previous year.

Leicester fans, is Keane really worth the £20m Burnley are asking for, let alone £15m? Let us know in the comments below…
