The Leicester City fans playing darts may have had their fair share of surprises after their impressive title-chasing campaign, but they have been left further shocked by a report in The Times which claims that Jamie Vardy has a £30 million buyout clause in his contract.
Striker Vardy has netted an impressive 19 goals in 29 games this term and was recently rewarded with a new contract at the King Power Stadium that saw his wage increase to £80,000 per week. The 29-year old’s prolific campaign have seen him attract the attention of England manager Roy Hodgson.
However, Vardy also received the unwelcome attention of Premier League rivals Manchester City, United and Chelsea in January.
But our Leicester supporting punters will be raising a toast to the latest news, although the implementation of a buyout clause which would force the Foxes to sell could cause a problem if a big outfit were to be prepared to pay it.
