Leicester to reward title winning goalkeeper with long term deal

Kasper SchmeichelThe Leicester City fans who are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports that the club are set to offer a key player in their title winning campaign a new long term deal.

According to reports in The Daily Mail, Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is going to be offered a new five year deal to stay at the Premier League champions.

The Danish international was a key part of the success that was brought to the King Power Stadium last season and the club are keen to hang on to one of their prized assets by offering him the security of a long term deal with the club.

The 29 year old has two years remaining on his current deal with the club, but should he accept the new deal he will be one of the top paid goalkeepers in the Premier League along with the likes of David De Gea and Joe Hart.

Our landlord in The Tavern feels that it would be as good as a new signing if Leicester can get Schmeichel to sign a new deal at the club.
