The Leicester City fans who are taking part in a pool tournament this evening in The Transfer Tavern are discussing reports linking their manager with a top international job.
The Express is reporting that Claudio Ranieri is the man that Italy want as a replacement for current head coach Antonio Conte, who looks set to move to Chelsea after Euro 2016.
With Roman Abramovich meeting with Conte’s agent in the coming days to finalise a three year deal, the Italian FA are keen to ensure they have a replacement lined up.
With the Italian’s looking for an experienced replacement and the fact that Ranieri is doing so well at the King Power Stadium, it means that the 64 year old is high on the shortlist of replacements for Conte.
It would be a blow to the heirachy at Leicester who will be concerned that this is possibly the only job that would tempt the Italian to leave the club.
The Leicester City fans in The Transfer Tavern are also concerned that should an offer for Ranieri come in from the Italian FA that the 64 year old would leave the club as the pull of coaching his country could prove to good to turn down.
Leicester fans, does Ranieri deserve his chance at managing Italy? Let us know in the comments!
