Leicester fans are patiently waiting to see Riyad Mahrez’s transfer fee reinvested into the squad.

The Algerian winger finally left the club this summer, completing a £60m transfer to Premier League champions Manchester City. Leicester will be disappointed to see their key player depart but his transfer fee allows Claude Puel to strengthen significantly before the window closes.

A striker remains at the top of his wish list. Puel is surely eager to lessen the goalscoring burden on Jamie Vardy’s shoulders and add some firepower to his front line. Ahmed Musa and Islam Slimani are both surely likely to leave the club as a result.

The answer to his problems could be Liverpool forward – Danny Ings. Valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt, the former Burnley man is finally set to leave the club after falling down the pecking order. Injuries have plagued his time on Merseyside meaning first-team football has been hard to come by. Ings was left out of Jurgen Klopp’s squad for the pre-season tour of the United States to resolve his future.

A quick, clever forward with excellent finishing skills, Ings would slot in seamlessly alongside Vardy in the Foxes attack. The former England international quickly became a fan favourite at Anfield due to his work rate and determination to win. If he can show the same qualities at the King Power, Leicester fans will love him.

Still only 26-years-old, his best years are ahead of him. Should Ings rediscover his Burnley form, Leicester’s attack will be complete.

Leicester fans, would you like to see the club sign Danny Ings? Let us know!
