Leicester City supporters have been in fine voice in recent times after seeing their side book their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

Claude Puel’s men went into their clash with fellow Premier League outfit Southampton off the back of drawing 1-1 with Brighton in the league at the weekend, which extended their unbeaten run in the division to four games. And the Foxes earned themselves a spot in the last eight of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday after edging past the Saints 6-5 on penalties, thus setting up a quarter-final clash with Manchester City, who beat Puel’s men at the same stage last term en route to winning the competition.

As such, there have been many thrilled Leicester fans up and down the country in recent times, several of whom are wondering what business their team may seek to conduct in January in a bid to move to the next level.

And one man who should look at the King Power Stadium as the ideal destination is £45,000-a-week Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse (as per Spotrac), who must look at James Maddison’s rise this season to know that Leicester is the place to be.

Ultimately, Englishman Maddison made the move to the Midlands outfit during the summer after excelling at Championship side Norwich City last season, and he has seamlessly made the step up to Premier League football by excelling for the Foxes so far this term.

The 22-year-old, who earned a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad last month such has been his great form, has scored three goals and laid on two assists in 12 league games for Puel’s side this season, three contributions of which have helped Leicester to positive results.

And with Maddison one of several young players regularly turning out for the Frenchman, alongside the likes of Ben Chilwell, Demarai Gray, Wilfred Ndidi, and Kelechi Iheanacho, it’s clear that Puel is building for the long-term at the King Power Stadium - Ward-Prowse should want to be a part of that.

Things aren’t going particularly well for the Englishman at Southampton this season given he has mustered just five Premier League appearances under manager Mark Hughes, only two of which have been starts.

And failing to even make the starting eleven against the Foxes in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, instead making the bench, must send alarm bells ringing for the 24-year-old - it’s difficult to currently see a future for him at St Mary's.

And that is why he should look at Leicester as the ideal destination from which to pursue his career - it’s plainly obvious that Ward-Prowse has huge ability, but he’s ultimately unable to show that sat on the bench at St Mary’s.

Whereas Puel appears to be building a team full of talent at Leicester, and given just how brilliantly Maddison has performed following his summer move, the same could well happen to Ward-Prowse.

As such, after another damning evening for the Saints star in failing to feature in the Carabao Cup, the 24-year-old should look at Maddison to know that Leicester is undoubtedly the place to be.
