Kelechi Iheanacho was the unlikely hero for Leicester City yesterday after he came off the bench to score the winner in a 2-1 win over Everton.

Since joining the Foxes, Iheanacho has mainly been a peripheral figure. The 23-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game this campaign and had not scored a goal in English football's top flight (2019/20) prior to his last-minute winner against the Toffees.

Having initially been ruled out for offside, it looked like a trend that would continue. However, VAR intervened to give Iheanacho's his first league goal of the season and to keep Leicester eight points behind Liverpool in the title race.

Given the above, you could have forgiven Leicester fans for greeting Iheanacho with negativity on the day as their side chased an equaliser after Richarlison's bullet header in the first half.

However, that was not the case, with some supporters showing plenty of optimism after Brendan Rodgers had him replace Ayoze Perez and quick to highlight the role he played in Jamie Vardy's equaliser at 1-1.

Take a look at how Iheanacho raised the spirits of supporters, even before his winner, below...
