James Maddison is set to be available for Leicester City’s clash with Southampton on Friday evening, as reported by the club’s official website.
The midfielder had been suffering from illness, as well as an ankle issue, but Brendan Rodgers has disclosed that the 22-year-old will be fully fit for the upcoming fixture.
Having Maddison fully fit will be a massive boost for Leicester, as in his 9 games across the Premier League and Carabao Cup this season, he has scored 3 goals, adding 2 assists, as per WhoScored.
He has also shown his threat in other ways, as in the league, Maddison has managed 1.6 key passes, 2.9 dribbles and 1.8 crosses per game, while also being fouled 2.8 times on average.
A willingness to work defensively has also been shown, even if it doesn’t always come off, as Maddison has made 1.8 tackles and 1.9 fouls per game.
Leicester will be keen to keep their place in the top four, so having as many players available as possible, especially when they have the influence of Maddison, is important.
If Manchester City lose against Aston Villa, a victory over Southampton could even see the Foxes go up to second in the league.
Will James Maddison be a Leicester player next season?
