Leicester City: Many fans ask for Marc Albrighton to start after club tweet

Many Leicester City fans are asking for Marc Albrighton to be a starter after the club account tweeted a video of him crossing the ball for Leicester’s fourth.

The video shows Albrighton – who came on as a second-half substitute – put in a perfect delivery for striker Jamie Vardy who managed to nod home his second of the afternoon and Leicester’s fourth of the game.

Leicester went onto dispatch Newcastle 5-0 as they carried on their fantastic start to the season, recording 14 points from their opening seven matches.

The club Twitter account joked saying “The perfect cross doesn’t exi-“, before showing a video of Albrighton putting in the ball for Vardy’s goal.

It’s not been the easiest of seasons for Albrighton, and with him now 29 years old and the squad growing in quality over the summer, he has only been able to register one start and three substitute appearances, amassing just 210 minutes (as per TransferMarkt) across all competitions this season.

However, those minutes seem enough to convince many Leicester fans to want the winger to start, if the responses to the tweet are anything to go by.

Here are some of the fans’ responses below…
