Leicester City potentially set for major cash windfall

Leicester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are debating what course of action the club should take with one player, who has attracted interest from China.

The Daily Mirror states Chinese outfit Tianjin Quanjian have set their sights on Leicester’s record-signing Islam Slimani, having seen an approach for Chelsea forward Diego Costa rebuffed.

Slimani, who only arrived last summer for a club-record fee of £29m, will reportedly be offered a whopping £400k-a-week to move to the Far East and the Algerian has been made aware of the interest, although no formal approach has been made.

The saga could even extend beyond next Tuesday’s transfer window deadline as the Chinese window remains open until mid-February, with Leicester now up against it as 28-year-old Slimani has had his attention caught by the mouthwatering wage offer.

Currently away at the African Cup of Nations, Slimani has struggled his the first-half of his maiden campaign in English football and our landlord believes the Foxes should consider an offer, as they’re likely to make a profit.

The Foxes fans here in the Tavern think the club undoubtedly have to accept an offer of £40 million for the striker, with them all agreeing the club can then utilise the funds to bolster other positions.
