Leicester City rocked as mammoth bid for ideal Vardy replacement snubbed, Spurs also keen

The Leicester City fans who are gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports about the club’s move for a new striker.

Le Buteur is reporting that the Premier League champions have been dealt a blow in their move for striker Islam Slimani.

The Foxes are understood to have seen their opening bid for the Algerian marksman snubbed by current charges, Sporting Lisbon.

Claudio Ranieri’s side are in the market for a new striker as they look to boost their squad ahead of a debut season in the Champions League.

With the future of last season’s top scorer Jamie Vardy in doubt, ‘The Tinkerman’ knows he needs a striker capable of scoring the goals that the England international contributed to the side last season, should he go this summer.

The bid the club had rejected was said to be worth €20 million and it will be interesting to see if the club go back with a bid with Sporting looking for at least €30 million.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been touted as a potential landing spot for the 27-year old, though the champions appear to have drawn first blood.

Will Slimani move to the Premier League this summer?
