Leicester City set to go back in for Champions League midfielder

According to The Mirror, Leicester City are to renew their interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Adrien Silva in the January transfer window.

It’s certainly got our Foxes fans here in the Transfer Tavern excited with the midfielder an exciting talent over in Portugal as well as him boasting Champions League experience.

Silva has seen his team crash out of the competition, though, this season and with Leicester progressing to the knockout stages they may look to do some business with the club.

This isn’t the first time the Premier League champions have moved for Silva this season, they saw a bid rejected for him┬áin the summer window as they also signed his then team-mate Islam Slimani.

With their title defence severely failing, though, extra options are obviously needed and so it would not be a surprise to see Claudio Ranieri delve into the market once it opens in just over a month’s time.

Silva has played 13 times in all competitions for the Portuguese side this season in which he has scored three goals and laid on another three for his team-mates.

Any contribution like that would surely help Leicester who are seriously close to the relegation zone at the moment.
