Our Leicester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern have got smiles on their faces for the first time in a while after getting an away goal against Sevilla last night.
The Foxes were back in Champions League action and put a backs-against-the-wall performance in to come away with a 2-1 defeat and every chance of making the quarters after the second leg at the King Power.
A welcome distraction from the league, then, and there seems to be some attention being afforded to transfer rumours at the club at the moment with Italian newspaper Il Mattino (via Calciomercato) claiming they are interested in Allan of Napoli.
The 26-year-old midfielder has not had much of a season in Naples up until now with playing time limited and that could lead him to wanting a move away.
The Foxes would, you’d think, only be able to prise him away if they are in the Premier League next season, though, and so that has to be the priority – starting this weekend.
The champions host Liverpool next time out in what promises to be a very competitive game.
