Leicester City supporters have been in fine voice in recent times after seeing their team get back to winning ways in the Premier League on New Year’s Day.
Claude Puel’s men went into their meeting with Everton at Goodison Park off the back of losing 1-0 at home to struggling Cardiff City on Saturday, and thus seeking a response when they made the trip to Merseyside on Tuesday. And those Foxes supporters certainly got a response from their team as a Jamie Vardy strike 13 minutes into their second half secured a 1-0 win for the Midlands outfit, in turn moving them up to seventh place in the Premier League table.
As such, there have been many delighted Leicester fans up and down the country in recent times, although plenty have taken to Twitter both during and indeed after the game to slate the efforts of winger Rachid Ghezzal on Tuesday.
The Algeria international made the move to the King Power Stadium during the summer as Puel sought a replacement for fellow Algerian Riyad Mahrez, with Ghezzal seeming to be the ideal man to do just that after fine spells at both Lyon and indeed Monaco.
And while there have been some glimpses of promise from the 26-year-old this season, he was arguably the worst Leicester player on the pitch against the Toffees in failing to make a meaningful impact over the course of his time on the field, which came to an abrupt end when Puel hooked him at half time in favour of Marc Albrighton.
And, unsurprisingly, Ghezzal’s frankly woeful display against Marco Silva’s side stimulated quite a response from a lot of very disappointed Leicester fans on Twitter…
I think your doing a disservice to anyone who’s scored 1 before. Ghezzal = 0

Agreed, Ghezzal just not Premier
League quality, he needs to be sold.

You know when you buy something off wish or you see the advert and it looks too good to be true and it arrives and it’s nothing like what you thought you purchased ….. well that’s Ghezzal …. he’s like a wish version of @Mahrez22 #lcfc

Yeah that’s didn’t go to plan Ghezzal was awful, wasted opportunity for him

Puel please learn that Ghezzal isn’t good enough and Albrighton plays from the off. Cheers #lcfc

Quite astonishing an overwhelming 75% felt Ghezzal had done nothing to warrant a start. Justified after being dragged off at half time. Poor bloke, he tries, I’ll give him that, but he’s useless #lcfc https://t.co/KhkitLl5KF

Ghezzal shouldn’t have started. Albrighton made all the difference when he came on! Choudhury has yet another decent game today! #lcfc
