Leicester should seriously consider giving Craig Shakespeare the funds to sign this dominating defender

Leicester are looking to rebuild this summer now that Craig Shakespeare has taken over the managerial helm on a permanent basis, following a disastrous defence to their surprise Premier League crown last season.

The Foxes started the season abysmally, and were considered relegation candidates for large swathes of the campaign.

Still, our Foxes fans here in the Transfer Tavern cannot grumble too much, and will remember the glories of Claudio Ranieri’s title winning side for generations to come.

Braving the beer garden in the hope of a few rays of sun, our landlord caught up with our regular Foxes, and spoke about their bid to improve their defence this summer.

Harry Maguire has already joined from Hull but it looks like other target Jonny Evans could stay with West Brom, so the debate began as to who else the club could target.

An ambitious call, but Mamadou Sakho was suggested, with the Frenchman seemingly having no future at Liverpool.

That could be Leicester’s gain, and Shakespeare should consider a big money swoop for the former PSG defender.

The 28 cap international would be a significant upgrade upon the options currently available to the former assistant boss, and convincing Sakho to swap Merseyside for the East Midlands would arguably be the best transfer of the summer.
