Leicester fans in the Transfer Tavern are happy with how their season has panned out with the team taking shape under Claude Puel. The Foxes are beginning to formulate a solid team capable of pushing for European football, something a good transfer window this summer would provide.
The Foxes have been through the depths of despair to now feeling safe within the top 10 of the Premier League. A number of their players have again been standout performers and it will prove to be a hard task to keep this calibre of talent at Leicester as the bigger teams come calling.
Leicester can’t afford to stand still in the transfer market though and should look to make signings of their own. Our punters suggest that Claude Puel should take a risk and target Real Madrid forward Borja Mayoral, a player valued at £6.75 million on Transfermarkt. Unsurprisingly, opportunities have been hard to come by in the first team although in total he has featured 20 times for Los Blancos and scored a reasonable five goals during that period.
Considering Mayoral is far from a starter at Madrid, Leicester should look at bringing him to the Premier League as the real test of his ability.
Apart from Jamie Vardy up-front and Riyad Mahrez cutting in from the wing, the Foxes have struggled for a goal source apart from them, something that the addition of Borja Mayoral could amend. Leicester are a team looking up rather than down so targeting a player who has the potential to have a very good career would be a wise move.
