As quoted by The Leicester Mercury, Leicester City’s young player Demarai Gray as said he is ready to fight to get more first team minutes this season, whilst he also knows he has plenty to improve on.
Improve he needs to, of course, as most young players do but it’s not just our Foxes fans here in the Transfer Tavern who have been hugely impressed with his fledgling career so far.
Gray has a lot of the required attributes already to be a potent force in the Premier League and has shown that in flashes for the Foxes with his power and pace combined with a real sense of fearlessness, looking set to take him far in the game.
The winger admits, though, that he still has things to work on, but work he will to ensure he gets the minutes needed to progress:
“Every player wants to play and I’m hungry for games,” said the youngster. “I haven’t been getting as much as I’ve wanted but that’s how it is sometimes.
“I’ve got to be patient and respect the manager’s decisions. He has faith in me and keeps bringing me on.
“I just have to keep doing what I’m doing and trying to impress when I come on.
“I am nowhere near the finished article. There is a lot I need to improve on and I’m going to keep working hard to try to impress.”
Gray can play down either wing and has a goal and an assist to his name in the Premier League this season, something he’ll no doubt want to add to before the end of the campaign.
The team itself is currently looking for improved fortunes with them currently 14th in the table and they’ll be looking for that to start against Middlesbrough this weekend.
