Quoted by Leicester City’s official website, striker Shinji Okazaki has said that he and his team can beat Tottenham this weekend as long as they work as a team, with our resident Foxes fans certainly agreeing with him.
The two sides challenged for the title last season, with the Foxes eventually winning the league by ten points, as the Lilywhites fell away.
Still, this year the tables have turned somewhat.
Spurs are once again challenging for the title and remain the only unbeaten side in the division – whilst Leicester’s defence of their crown has faltered with Champions League football on the agenda at the club.
Okazaki feels, however, that if his team work as a unit they can be the first side to beat the London club in the league this season.
“Against Tottenham it will be difficult. They are strong like Manchester United and Chelsea so we have to play together”, he said.
”We need to show good organisation, make sure our defence is tight and show good concentration for 90 minutes. This is the way we must play against Tottenham.”
Leicester can get into the top half of the division if they win at the weekend whilst Spurs could go top if other results go their way and they take the victory.
Considering the nature of their seasons last time, there’s a rivalry amongst the two sets of supporters propping up the bar emerging.
It promises to be a cracker, with Spurs not looking entirely convincing, despite their solid enough form on paper.
