Leicester City managed to grab their first victory in their last outing as they secured a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes made the most of their chances despite being under the cosh at times as they released some of the pressure off Claude Puel’s shoulders. Indeed, the Frenchman hasn’t been afraid to make some changes so far this season and will need to look to do so once again in their next outing.
Therefore, with a trip to Puel’s old stomping ground St Mary’s to face Southampton up next, perhaps the 56-year-old will look to iron over any underlying problems by drafting in a couple of players.
Interestingly, one man who is yet to start a Premier League match for the Foxes is summer signing Rachid Ghezzal, who is surely going to be Riyad Mahrez’s replacement in the East Midlands.
The Frenchman showed plenty of promise over in his home country but is yet to be given a proper chance in the Premier League. But, with plenty of training sessions now under his belt, Puel shouldn’t hesitate to gift him his first start in the blue shirt against a difficult Southampton side.
Of course, the likes of Demarai Gray and Marc Albrighton were given the nod against Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out, but summer signing Ghezzal can offer something different in the final third by using his pace and creativity to conjure up goalscoring opportunities.
